River Table by Arrin

Arrin Falk-Dotan (pronounced “Are-een”)

I made it 4 years ago in Gr. 12 but only just got around to putting finish on it last weekend. It’s been hanging around in my basement unfinished in that time. The top is made of birds-eye red elm with some amazing figure on it and the legs are (comparatively boring) clear straight grained ash. The legs are joined with  pocket screws and the top is attached with small brackets i made screwed in from underneath. My skills have gotten significantly better since I made the table but I think it still turned out well.

Table Set by Dave

This is my very first build made for my niece . All done with mortise and tenon.  It is made out of ash that was cut down on our property and dried in the basement.

    Hi Matt,
I am a long time wood worker that is trying to up my game in my retirement. I have been watching you for about a year and you inspired me to try building a slab table. This is my first and I was lucky to find a live edge 10/4 piece of Champhor a local sawyer had. The wood has some amazing figure in it, so I thought I would send you a few pictures, can you tell me where to send them, I hope you enjoy them.
Thanks again for your videos, they have taught me a lot.
