Making headway on the bandsaw mill and a little progress on the farmhouse table benches
I made it in my spare time between school and work. It is made entirely of oak, without finishing, so that the wood remains as natural as possible. It was the first time I made half-lap and dovetail joints. I’m proud of the result, but I will do it differently next time.
The crib made from cherry and maple(most is curly maple but bad lighting doesn’t show it). Domino joinery and aluminum pegs to take apart. I then built a changing table out of cherry, ran out of maple to mix in. To make it look different from any other changing table I’ve seen, i made it have a floating top. It’s domino joinery as well but with arm-r-seal for finish. Think they both turned out great especially since they’re my biggest pieces of furniture I’ve made and they weren’t made using someone’s step by step plans, actually drew them out on graph paper before building(I suck at sketch up).
