Building a Walnut Coffee Table – Shelf and Divider Joinery (Part 2)

In this series of videos, I’m going to take you through the process as I build this walnut coffee table.  The table is all solid wood construction with an open shelf and 2 drawer design.  It features curves on all 4 sides which carry through both the horizontal and vertical dividers and the drawer fronts.  The horizontal dividers join to the legs though their bread boards – the subtop is dovetailed and the shelf is tenoned into the legs.

In the last video, I showed how I made the panels with their breadboard ends and dovetailed the sub top into the legs.  In this video, I’ll show how I joined the shelf to the legs with a twin tenon, I’ll add the vertical dividers, add the curves, and prefinish the parts.
