Over Thanksgiving weekend, my dad and I spent some time together getting this large red oak log up onto my mill, sliced up, and stacked to dry.

  1. Matt, Why are the cuts when slabbing so thick? Does that have to do with the finished size? Seems you lose board feet in the long run.
