This is a bar i made with a friend of mine.Framed with 2×4s I cut on my sawmill and 3 pine slabs for the top dowel pinned together. Trimmed in cedar also cut on mill. Burned with propane pear burner to bring out grain and cleared with 3 coats of urethane.
I made this toboggan a couple years ago for my grandkids. One nice thing is that my son helped me with it, so he and his boys can enjoy it as the work of his own hands.
I’ve sent you some of my projects before, this is the latest one, a tea box for my mother. The lid is made of wild pear wood and the sides are elm. I have an Instagram profile where I started posting my projects
It’s a steam bent, laminated chair, and it’s the first time I’ve tried both steaming wood and chair making. It’s made from Tasmanian Oak and Merbau (‘mer-bow’) and it took around 6 weeks to make. Having used bent wood I’m totally hooked, and see myself using it in a lot of future project, haha.
