It’s made from beech with walnut accents and finished with Watco Teak oil.
Coffee Table by Mike
Here are some pictures of a table I made from a piece of spalted beech. I am a tree surgeon on the south coast of England. Your youtube channel has been a massive influence on how I go about dealing with the timber after a tree removal. I bought an Alaskan Mill for my Husqvarna 3120 and now slab as much wood as I can. The pictures are from the first table I made, trying techniques with a router sledge, hand plane and a card scraper (all first times for me). I kept it simple for my first attempt but now hope to get into more complicated joinery for following projects, although I’m some way off attempting a high boy.
Dining Table by Dusty
Attached are some pics of a dining table that I finished before Christmas. The top is made out of a flitch of mesquite sawn here in Phoenix (not the worst town in the US, despite what Mark says),and the legs are another mesquite slab bought from the same sawyer. The top is about 53″ square and was made to go in a cabin up near Flagstaff.
