Crib by Arvid

This is my first project, it is a crib for my first child who is due any day now. It is made of solid spruce with through mortise and tenons. I’ve made it solely with hand tools, I would have preferred to do it out of the stack of oak that I have lying but the Mrs wanted it painted orange to go with a small hanger we’ve bought.

Dog Leg Dining Table by Mike

Jorgia is our 8 yr old rescue dog, and several weeks ago my wife Joyce suggested that she needed a new feeding table that was more suited to her current height. (When she was about 8 months old I repurposed the step stool that I’d made for my daughter so that she could reach the bathroom sink to brush her teeth. (My daughter will be 32 this year) to hold Jorgia’s food and water dishes.)
Furniture lumber is very difficult to get here even though we export hundreds of thousands of board feet of construction grade softwood from our town.
I used poplar for this build and was happy to find some boards with some great colouring and interesting grain pattern. (For poplar..LoL)
The joinery is hand cut mortise and tenon, I used a 9” bandsaw and coping saw (a crappy one) to cut out the legs, shaping was done with files, rasps and sandpaper.
The top is held down with screws through little hold down clips I hand cut from hickory.
The finish is just satin wipe-on poly.

Coffee Table by Glenn

This oak piece made from mostly leftover oak flooring and a few pieces of oak lumber from the big box store. I wire brushed it then dyed it with Speedball India Ink and Shellac.

Miniature FHT and Benches by Dan

I wanted to share a project with you that I made my daughter for Christmas. It is a farmhouse table and chairs for her and her dolls.  The Table legs are turned out of Pine and the table top is made out of Curly Cherry.  The Chairs are made of Pine and the seats are made of the same Curly Cherry.  Joinery is simple Mortise and Tenon throughout.  The table is 36” x 19” and 25” tall.
