Farmhouse Table by Tyler

I’m a fourteen year old woodworker and this is the farm house table that was made as a mothers day gift for my mom. It has a 2 by 6 top stained and 4 by 4 legs with 1 by 4 runners and supports underneath. The main faster is pocket holes and wood glue! There is a bench also that has been made that matches the table too!

Stool by Wesley

I made this stool from some cut offs from my major design project at school. It’s European beech for the top and legs with some Jarrah to provide some contrast. The top was turned of the lathe to give that scoop, so it is more comfortable to sit on. The legs were then doweled to the top. I finished it with danish oil and a top coat of wax.

Nightstand by Austin

This was a nightstand i built out of Madrone — a local coastal California hardwood, with the top being spalted madrone.

Tatami Style Platform Bed by Sean

It is made from Alder with a Bubinga raised panel in the headboard. The headboard top and sides have a sweeping chamfer that was hand shaped to give the illusion that the panels are curved when light reflects.
The rails have a similar chamfer along their length. The feet were laminated from 8/4 alder and arranged so the annular rings look like the end of a log. All the rails, sides, head, and foot boards interlock into the feet. No hardware required.
The mattress is supported by (17) 2.5-3″ slats made of poplar set equidistant from each other.

Bandsaw Mill by Adam

This has been my tinkering project for the last year and I have finally gotten it working (mostly) to the point where I can mill down logs into lumber without too many issues. It doesn’t work as well as I thought it would, but for the $150 I have put into it I have already gotten that back and more from the cherry and apple I have milled down and won’t have to buy.

I bought a 12″ jet bandsaw off of craigslist and cut the cast iron arm in half, welded up a steel split to make the capacity greater and bolted it back together. In hindsight, this wasn’t needed since the motor is only a half HP and doesn’t have the power to cut green logs any bigger than a 7 or 8 inch cut at a time taking it very slow, and cutting it in half is probably causing some of my drifting issues. I build the log carousel/platform out of scrap lumber and it uses a winch to pull the parallelogram deck up to raise the log for each cut. the bandsaw rolls on roller blade wheels on chain link fence top rail pipes- soon to be upgraded to 4 inch post pipes.

I have milled down several smaller cherry logs and an apple log. I milled down some to rough lumber from 1″ to 1.5″ and then left a fair number of pieces as larger 3×3 to 5×5 blanks to be milled down later.
