I took most of the week off after my daughter was born last week but I was able to get the doors hung on the tool cabinet and finish up the joinery on the drawers.

This is a electric guitar that I made from scratch, it’s my first guitar build so it definitely was a challenge . It is a semi hollow les Paul style guitar featuring a maple top mahogany body a three pice maple and mahogany neck with a cocobolo fret board, finished with tru oil.
The mantle goes over the existing cultured stone mantle above a gas fireplace. I did this in an effort to warm up the room. It is my first project using any hardwood (walnut), let alone rough lumber. I finished it with 3 coats of boiled linseed oil and topped it with paste wax for a matte sheen. I got it done just in time for my wife to decorate for Christmas!
I just got done with one of those corner christmas tree shelves. Its a simple design. Its made from 3/4 plywood. The shelves are held in place with gravity. The supports are screws to the side panels. It has a hinge in the back so that it can be folded up and lay flat for storage. It was the first time using edge banding and spraying on a finish. The whole thing sits just under 6feet and the bottom shelf is 24inchs.
Four of the tables I made came from a sugar maple tree that grew in our front yard. My wife planted the tree in 1978 and we cut the tree down in 2013. The staining inside the tree was really the beauty in the wood.
