Made from workshop scraps of what I think is white cedar with a jarrah trim

Record Player Stand by Sam

Here is some pics of a record player stand that I made out of pallet wood. The top and “shelf” are oak and the legs are cedar I think. The legs I milled out of the bigger piece and stained weathered walnut. That’s my first time trying milling and I think it came out ok.

Spoons by Gary

I’ve finally been taking the time to practice spoon carving; out of green wood and using all hand tools. So far I’ve made 8 spoons for the 8 weeks I’ve been stuck at home! It’s a fun departure from the more linear, power tool woodworking I’m used to.

Basket Shelves by Matt

I finished up my first ever woodworking project where I actually had to apply finish. We moved into our new place back in June of 2019, and it had a trash compactor as part of the island in the kitchen. I have no idea who still uses trash compactors so we ripped it out and started looking what we could replace it with. My wife found a kit online for some sliding basket shelves that I thought were unreasonably expensive and assured her I could make a better version that fit the cabinet much better. I think I was right, it just took me 10 months to finally accomplish the task (I get distracted easily apparently).

It’s not made out of any fun wood, just some simple red oak purchased at the Depot, but I’m very happy with how it turned out. Got to use a dado stack for the first time (so awesome and so happy I splurged on a nice one), and learned a bunch of lessons about routers and using hand tools on oak.

  1. Hi Matt…

How do I obtain one of your workbench slab kits? I can’t seem to find a direct email for you… From where will the lumber kits be shipped?

    1. Hi Matt…

Wow… Minneapolis! I am located in Phoenix, AZ… Shipping costs for those kits might be pretty pricey… What has your experience been shipping the kits in the past?

      1. Should be $300-400. If residential delivery is needed there are additional fees for that and for lift gate if that’s needed too. That would put it on the higher end.
